CES® COUNCIL STANDING COMMITTEES

  • Council members and Designees may fill an open committee. A Council member will fill the chair position.
  • Council members may only fill a closed committee.
  • A limited committee may only be filled by current and past Council members who have maintained their CES® designation. A current Council member will fill the chair position.

Communications/Marketing Committee

The Communications Committee disseminates relevant program and industry information to designees through various channels, including but not limited to the publication of the CES® Connections. This committee also promotes the use of the Certified Exchange Specialist® designation to consumers and allied professionals, promotes the benefits of earning the designation to potential designees, and provides marketing tools and support to designees. This is an open committee. 

Continuing Education Committee

The Continuing Education Committee shall be primarily responsible for the Continuing Education Standards and Procedures and shall review courses to determine eligibility and credit hours. This committee also handles the processing of exam applications. This is a closed committee. 

Designee Services Committee

The Designee Services Committee seeks to develop and maintain value-added services that can be provided to designees. This is an open committee. 

Due Process and Appeals Committee

The Due Process and Appeals Committee reviews and responds to appeals from individuals who feel aggrieved by an action or a decision of the Council. This is an open committee. A Council member will fill the chair position and shall be a non-voting position.

Ethics and Discipline Committee

The Ethics and Discipline Committee investigates allegations against designees and disciplines designees if warranted. This is an open committee. 

Examination Committee

The Examination Committee oversees item and examination development and scoring. This is a limited committee.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is designed to promote policy consistency as the makeup of the Council changes over the years. It monitors Council activities and prepares a seamless succession plan. This committee may only be filled by the five most senior members of the Council as determined by the Council Chair. 

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for preparing an annual budget to be submitted to the FEA Treasurer for Board review and approval, review of monthly financial reports provided by the FEA, and monitoring and adjusting expenses as needed. This is a closed committee. 

Leadership

The Leadership Committee oversees new member applicants, election procedures, and member mentoring/growth.

Maintenance of Certification/Renewal Committee

The Maintenance of Certification/Renewal Committee oversees the maintenance of certification and renewal processes. This is a closed committee.
