Members of the FEA are required to participate in ongoing education to
ensure they continue to develop as professionals and stay on top of changes in the laws and regulations. Education is offered through:
- Various regional and national events held throughout the country
- FEA communications including its member newsletter
- A member only section on the web site where resources and tools are posted
As the only trade association for companies participating in 1031 Exchanges, the FEA administers a nationally recognized Certification and Continuing Education Program. This program is designed to increase the professionalism of the exchange industry and foster public confidence when selecting an exchange accommodator. To become certified, members must demonstrate specific work criteria and pass an exam on laws and procedures. Upon meeting these requirements, members receive the designation of Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES).
